Domain Hosting for your DevThunder site

You edit in the DevThunder builder on *.sites.devthunder.com. When you are ready for example.com, Domain Hosting is our managed path: we stand up hosting, connect DNS, and auto-deploy every time you publish — no manual ZIP uploads.

This post is for owners who want a fast brochure site on their own domain without running WordPress or learning static-host dashboards.

What Domain Hosting includes

PieceWhat happens
EditorSame builder — Free, Premier, or Pro on DevThunder
PublishYou click publish in the dashboard
DeployPre-rendered HTML, CSS, fonts, and media sync to your hosted domain
DNSWe hand off records (or configure them on Launch)

| TLS | HTTPS on www.yourbrand.com

Typical go-live setup is $99–$199 (domain connect, DNS, HTTPS, first deploy). Larger migrations are quoted. See pricing.

What gets deployed

Each publish produces the same static output visitors would see on your tenant:

AssetPurpose
index.htmlHomepage
{page}/index.htmlAdditional pages
assets/app.cssStyles matching your live tenant
assets/fonts/Self-hosted fonts from site appearance settings
media/Page images, logo, and favicon when set in branding

Your live domain serves your branding only — not DevThunder platform chrome. Upload logo and favicon under Site settings → Branding before go-live.

Domain Hosting vs the other paths

ApproachBest for
Domain HostingYou want publish → live domain without ops; we handle hosting + deploy
Managed WordPressBlog-heavy sites, plugins, or a classic WP admin for content
Launch bundlesWhite-glove go-live — a year of hosting with scoped setup

You can export static HTML and host it yourself. We recommend that only when you already live in those dashboards daily.

What static hosting does not include

NeedStatic host aloneWhat to do
Contact formNeeds a receiverKeep a DevThunder form endpoint, use a form SaaS, or scope serverless on Custom
Dynamic blog on your domainNo CMS on static HTMLManaged WordPress, or publish blog posts on DevThunder marketing
Ongoing fixesYou watch alarmsAdd Care ($79/mo per site) for monitoring, inbox, and small updates

DNS checklist (custom domain)

  1. Reserve the name — /domains or how to keep a domain.
  2. On Launch, we document exact records; if you manage DNS yourself, point www at the host we give you.
  3. Point the apex (yourbrand.com) the same way — we will say which record type your DNS allows.
  4. Wait for propagation (minutes to hours).
  5. Confirm HTTPS before announcing.

Stay on DevThunder first?

You do not need yourbrand.com on day one — publish on *.sites.devthunder.com and share that link while you refine.

When you want a custom domain:

  • Domain Hosting — managed hosting + auto-deploy from publish.
  • Launch bundles — Starter / Pro / WordPress with scoped setup and go-live smoke tests.
  • Custom — full domain + hosting + mail + ops when scope exceeds standard packages.

Next steps

  1. Business email with your domain — a real mailbox, or forwarding while you decide.
  2. Care add-on — monitoring and small fixes after go-live.
  3. Launch quote — we register/connect the domain and deploy for you.
